PM Assets

PM/Template Assets are individual items from other modules that are the focus of Work Orders that are created by the PM/Template. For example, a Work Order could be one or more vehicles, a stretch of roadway, or a sewer manhole. Most PM/Templates will either include an Asset or a Location that will appear on Work Orders. Adding Assets to Work Orders created by PM/Templates enables users to plan and schedule Asset maintenance. This enables organizations to see the history of that Asset and summarize the maintenance cost of an Asset over time.

These are fields on the PM record that are related to the records in the Asset grid.

The PM Asset grid lists the Asset Inventory records associated with the PM/Template. The grid gives users easy access to these records and provides many tools to quickly get work done within the system with general and module-specific toolkits.

Important: The PM Asset grid is only used for Standard PMs or Tightly Linked PMs linked to Standard PMs.

Open the Work > PMs/Templates module.
Click the to expand the Scheduled PM record that is Standard, Tightly Linked or Affected to which you want to add an Asset.
In the PM Assets grid and click Add . The PM Assets form opens.
The Sequence No will auto-populate but can be changed.
The Category will be automatically populated from the PM/Template Category. Change the Category to select an Asset from a different inventory module.
Use the System ID 1 to select the Asset that will be worked on (required).
- The Desc 1 and Desc 2 fields populate automatically based on the Asset's configuration in the Work Asset Setup module.
Click Save . The Asset appears in the PM Assets grid.

In the PM/Work Template module, click to the desired PM/Template record.
Select the Toolkit in the PM Assets grid and select the Add Multiple Assets tool. The following pop-up appears:
Open Choose A Category to select a category (required).
Open Select an Asset (required). A pop-up similar to the following appears:
Select one or more Assets (required). *The list will only display Assets in the module associated to the Category selected in step 3 above.
Click Select. If one or more selected Assets exists on another PM Template, an error similar to the following appears:
Click OK . The new Assets now appear in the PM Assets grid.

Open the PM/Templates module.
Click the to expand a PM record to which you wish to add a Subset of Assets.
Click Subsets . A pop-up similar to the following appears:
Select the option to load an Category Code. This field will be auto-populated but can be changed. This specifies the asset inventory module from which the Assets will be pulled.
The subset section will show a list of all the subsets for the related asset inventory module.
Select a subset and click Load. The selected subset's Assets appear in the PM Asset grid.

In the PM/Templates module, click the to expand the desired PM/Template record.
In the PM Assets grid, click the drop down next to the Show in Map button and select Add Asset/XY from Map.
The Web Map will open and the following dialog will appear:
Click OK.
Click the tool.
Select one or more Assets in the map.
In the Selection toolbar make sure of your selection. Click Go next to the Attach to PM/Template tool.
The features are added to the Assets grid of the PM/Template.

Sequence No	Sets the order in which the asset should be completed.
Category*	Specifies which Category applies to this Asset. This field is automatically populated based on the PM/Template Category; however, it can be changed. The selected Category controls the Asset Type field. The list of Categories comes from the Work > Administration > Work Flow Setup > Category Setup module. More information about Category fields
Asset Type*	Indicates which module the Asset is from. This field is read-only and automatically populates based on the Inventory to which the selected Category is tied.
System ID 1*	This field stores the ID of the selected Asset. The Assets that can be selected or entered into this field must be from the module indicated in the Asset Type field. Enables users to select the asset from a picklist of records from the module. Enables users to select the asset from a asset driven list/tree of assets. More information about asset driven lists
Desc 1 Desc 2	Displays information about the Asset. This field automatically populates based on settings in the Work Asset Setup module.
Description	Displays the Description entered in the PM > Asset record.
Autonumber	Displays the Record Number for the Asset Inventory record.
