User Management

The user management grids are on the left side of the the User/Group Setup window. They allow administrators to create new users, assign passwords, setup windows authentication, etc...

Users grid

This grid displays a list of all the users. The columns in this grid can be sorted and their is right click functionality that allows sorting and some mass updates for user records.

locate

Use the locate button to search for users in the list.

New User

Creates a blank new user record

Edit User(s)

Edits any users selected in the Users grid.

Copy User

Creates a new user based on the currently selected user. Exactly what it copies is based on the Copy > Users menu.

Delete User(s)

Deletes the user currently selected in the grid.

Reset Password(s)

This button is no longer used because a user must have an assigned password. If a user has forgotten their password, Edit the user record and use the Change Password button to give them a new password.

Associated Groups grid *

This grid displays the groups associated to the currently selected user(s).

Effective Permissions *

This grid displays the permissions for the currently selected user. If more than one user is selected no permissions will be displayed.

Display User Permissions Only

Check this box to hide any Effective Permissions the selected user inherits from a group. This allows administrators to quickly see which individual overrides the user has been assigned.

* These grids can be hidden using the View menu.
