Struct Structural

The Structure (Struct) Structural tab features three different factor types: Matrix Factor, Item Type Factor, and Defect Type Factor. The structural number assigned to each manhole defect has both a severity and a density. These factors are used to determine the overall structural number (found in the TV Inspections module under the Summary tab).

The following equation is used to determine the structural number:

Structural Number = Matrix Factor * Defect Type Factor * Item Type Factor

For example, if the wall was assigned a Broken/Missing Severity of 2 and a Density of 3, then the Structural Number assigned to the defect is:

Structural Number = 3(Matrix Factor)*2(Defect Type Factor)*2(Item Type Factor)=12

Note: Although these fields are all pre-defined, you can edit them by clicking on the module toolbar.
