This tab allows you to create a list of structural defects and assign each defect a rating and priority based on the level of structural damage to the pipe. To add a defect to the pick list, complete the following steps:
Right-click in the grid and select Add Record. The following window will appear:
Click . The list of existing codes and defects/problems will appear. These represent the defects observed during the inspection.
Note: The system comes pre-populated with a list of 16 defects, each with estimated ratings. These can be modified as needed.
Click . You'll see the following dialog:
Entera unique code in the Code field and the new defect in the Description field.
Click . The code-description will then be added to the existing list.
Note: You may not have rights to add or edit this list. See your system administrator for details.
Scroll down and highlight your code-description in the list and click . The add window will reappear and your custom code-description will be displayed.
Add any ratings in the appropriate fields. The structure rating system is used to prioritize pipe restoration and repairs. The higher the structure rating, the more urgent the need for repair.
Add any priority ratings for this defect in the appropriate fields. The higher the priority rating, the more urgent the need for repair.
Mark the checkbox if this Defect applies to or is found in Building Connections (i.e. Wye Service, Break-In Conn, Extended Tap).
Click to save the record.
Click to exit Edit Mode.
Click to close the window and return to the grid.
Note: If you edit a rating, the change will only affect data from that point on (i.e. past data will not be affected) unless you run the "Recalc All" option (under System Tools).
