General Tab

A permit may be issued by the city to allow a drain layer to create a new connection, a seal off, or make repairs. Excavation permits can also be issued by the city to allow a crew to install a service lateral. The General tab is used to record a permit number, permit issuance details, permit dates, and fees issued or paid. In addition, this tab tracks the name of the drain plumber that installed the service lateral, the plumber's license number, and plumbing inspection results.

Permit # *

This field helps to identify the record. This field can either be automatically generated by the system, or it can be manually entered. If it is set to be automatically generated the field will not be editable. The Sewer Options module contains options that control the automation of this field. For more information go here.

Discharge

This records how much sewer discharge this permit is for. It can be used along with the Sewer Permit Fee Setup module to automatically fill out the Permit Fee field.

Permit Fee

This is how much the permit costs. It can be automatically filled out using the Discharge field and the Sewer Permit Fee Setup module. If the Discharge rate on the permit record falls between the Low Discharge and High Discharge rates on the permit fee setup record then the related Permit Fee will be used to update this field. However, this field can be manually populated too.
