Merge Street Segments

Merge Two Street Segments Tool

The Merge Street Segments tool will merge two street segments in the map and in the Lucity database.

Merge

Important: This tool should be used to merge street segments because it protects the data integrity of the Lucity database.  If you merge these features manually, the system will not merge inspections, work history, and inventory information for the new feature.

To merge two features in the map:

  1. In ArcMap, start an edit session.
  2. Click the Merge Street Segments tool on the Lucity GIS Edit toolbar.
  3. Using the Merge tool, select the two adjacent features.  You can do this by dragging a box around the two segments or by clicking on one segment and then holding down the SHIFT key while clicking on the second segment.  You can only merge two segments at a time.
  4. Once you have the two segments selected, right click over one of the segments and a Merge menu will display.  Click on the menu to merge the two features.
  5. A message will be displayed when the segments have been merged successfully.

Important: Save your edits after using this tool; do not cancel your edits.  Failure to save your edit session will result in the desktop not getting updated correctly.
