Even with a custom geodatabase integration, there are still some standard business rules that must be followed to meet Lucity requirements. The following are the business rules adhered to by Lucity. It is not required for all data in the geodatabase to follow these rules; Lucity places no restrictions on data in the geodatabase. However, only those features that meet the requirements will propagate to the Lucity inventory database and will be accessible in the desktop inventory modules.
Every feature must have a unique text identifier. This is defined as the "Feature Class Common Link Field 1" in the Custom Geodatabase configuration.
Sewer pipes and storm pipes must be drawn or digitized in direction of flow.
Sewer pipes and storm pipes should have an upstream structure number and a downstream structure number assigned to each pipe. If desired, these structure numbers may be automatically maintained by using the spatial relationships function.
Sewer pipes or storm pipes must have a unique upstream and downstream identifier combination. If they are not unique (parallel pipes, siphons, etc), a field with the name "i" must be used to index the pipes 0,1,2,3,4 etc, up to the number of pipes.
