The Equipment Readings module records meter readings and tracks historical readings from an hour meter or some other meter.
Users create a new record to log the current reading each time they read the meter. Each new record displays past meter readings and calculates the difference in usage.
Equipment Readings can be used:
to schedule preventative maintenance work orders (PMs),
to verify the warranty status of the equipment,
to set depreciation schedules, and
to determine whether the equipment should be replaced.
Common Tasks
To open the Equipment Readings module, select one of the following:
Method 1: Add a Reading to an Equipment item through the Equipment Inventory module
Open the Fleet > Equipment > Equipment Inventory module.
Click the button to expand the Equipment record to which you want to add a reading.
Select the record's Readings grid and click the Add New button in the grid toolbar. A new Reading record appears with the selected record's Equipment ID already identified.

Method 2: Create a new Reading record in the Equipment Reading module
Open the Fleet > Equipment > Equipment Reading module.
Click the Add New button. A new record appears,
Enter or select the Equipment ID (required) for the item for which you want to record a reading.

Enter the Date (required) of the reading.
The combination of Equipment ID and Date must form a unique combination.
Complete other fields as desired.
Click Save to save the record. The new Reading record appears in the Equipment asset's Readings grid and in the Equipment Reading module.
