How To Add an Asset

1. Right-click in the grid and select Add Record.  The following screen will appear:

   

2. By default, the Sequence No. field contains the next sequential number. It can be edited if you wish to alter the order in which assets appear in the grid.
3. The Object Type field displays the type of feature in the asset grid. For standard inventory categories like "Sewer Pipe" or "Water Hydrant" (as selected in the header), this field will not be editable and will display the feature type. For PMs that have been assigned a category that is not an inventory category (classification categories), this field will be editable and may be modified to store what type of feature you are entering. A pick list is available for this field. To modify the values in the pick list, use the Custom Feature Definition module.
4. Once the Object Type has been designated (either by the system or by the user), the System ID 1 field allows you to enter the specific asset ID number. Press F9 to select from the pick list.

   Note: The System ID 2 field will be inaccessible if the category you chose doesn't include linear assets or other assets that require two ID numbers (like Sewer Pipes).

5. The Asset ID and Description fields will be entered by the system once the System ID 1 is selected.
6. Click to save the record when you are finished entering data.
7. Click to escape Add Mode.
8. Click to close the window.
