Flushing Route

The Water Flushing Route module enables agencies to set up routes for flushing hydrants and pipes, and for opening and closing related valves . Users can then create flushing history records to track the results of flushing each hydrant.

To open this module, select Water > Water Distribution > Flushing > Flushing Routes.

Open the Hydrant Flushing Routes module.
Click the button. A new record appears.
Enter the Route ID (required). This value must be unique.
Select the pressure Zone that contains the route.
Complete other fields as desired.
Click the button to save the record. The new record appears in the Flushing Routes grid.

Select the Flushing Route to which you want to add a hydrant.
Click the button to expand the record.
Select the Hydrants grid and click the button. The Hydrants form appears.
Select a Hydrant Number (required).
Complete other fields as desired.
Note: The system completes several fields automatically using data from the Hydrant record.
Click the button to save the record.

Open the Flushing Routes module.
Click the button for the Flushing Route to which you want to add a Valve.
In the Route's Hydrants grid, click the button to expand the associated Hydrant.
In the Hydrant's Valves grid, click the button. The Valves form appears.
Select a Valve Number (required).
Complete other fields as desired.
Click the button to save the record.

Click the button for the Flushing Route to which you want to add a pipe.
In the Route's Hydrants grid, click the button to expand the associated Hydrant.
In the Hydrant's Pipes grid, click the button. The Pipes form opens.
Select a Pipe Number (required).
Complete other fields as desired.
Click the button to save the record.

Method 1

Open the Water Flushing Route module.
Click to expand the Flushing Route you are flushing and select the Flushing History grid.
Click the button. A new Flushing History record opens with the Route ID for the selected route.
Complete other fields as desired.
Click the button to save the record.

Method 2

Open the Water Flushing History module.
Click the button. The Flushing History form appears.
Enter or select the Route ID for the Route you are flushing.
Complete other fields as desired.
Click the button to save the record.
Note: Flushing History records can also be created using the Flushing Route Toolkits.

The following options dictate what happens when a user creates a Work Order from a Flushing Route.

In Flushing Route, Copy Hydrants to Work Orders with Tool

Flushing Route module

Directs the system to automatically add Hydrants on the Flushing Route as assets to Work Orders created using the Create Work Order or Create Flushing History and WO tools.

In Flushing Route, Copy Valves to Work Orders with Tool

Flushing Route module

Directs the system to automatically add Valves on the Flushing Route as assets to Work Orders created using the Create Work Order or Create Flushing History and WO tools.

In Flushing Route, Copy Pipes to Work Orders with Tool

Flushing Route module

Directs the system to automatically add Pipes on the Flushing Route as assets to Work Orders created using the Create Work Order or Create Flushing History and WO tools.
