Attributes Tab

This tab allows you to configure and define your budget.  Based on the settings in this tab, you can determine how much money will be used for each model run and how many years you have to run the model.  The system supports two types of budgets: A monetary budget and a PCI based budget.  Follow the directions below to configure your budgets.

Annual Budget *

The amount of money allocated for pavement repair each year.

Budget Inflation Rate

The percent that your budget will increase each year.

PCI Based Budget *

Mark this to indicate that the budget should be based on the PCI of your streets instead of on the size of the budget.

Required Minimum PCI *

Sets the minimum PCI that is expected for each street segment. For example, if this number is 82, the model will spend as much money as needed to ensure that all streets have a score of 82 PCI.

Contingency Percent

This is an add-on project contingency cost in percentage form for each selected project. For example, you could use this cost to cover engineering, legal, administration, and other fees.

Cost Inflation Rate

This reflects the inflation rate for your supplies, pavement costs, etc.

Initial Budget Date *

The date on which the model will begin its run. If this date is in the past, the program will reset it for the current date.

# of Budget Years *

The number of years that the budget will run from the initial date.

Model Stop Point *

This is a monetary value.  As the model runs it subtracts costs from the year's budget. As the budget goes down the model has to find streets to fix whose repair costs will still fit within the remaining budget. If the remaining budget for a year falls below this point the model will stop trying to find streets to fix for that year. This causes the budget to run faster.

Only Select Critical

Indicates if the model should select only streets whose PCI falls within the Rehab Key Zone. These are roads that are in good condition but will soon become more expensive to repair.

* Required for all Budgets

* Only for Money Based Budget

* Only for PCI Based Budget
