PM Template Created from Individual Asset Records

In addition to creating PMs in Fleet and Equipment, you can also create PMs directly from some of the other asset inventory modules.

Note:  You can use this feature to create scheduled and tightly linked PMs; however, you cannot create grouped PMs directly from an inventory module.  These must be created in the PM/Template module.  

Complete the following steps to create a PM/Template from an asset inventory record:

  1. Open the asset inventory module and locate the individual asset record for which you'd like to create a PM/Template.
  2. Click the Create PM button at the top of the module toolbar.

    Note: This button only appears in certain asset inventory modules. If you don't see the button in the module toolbar you will need to create a PM for that asset directly in the PM/Template module.

  3. The new PM will appear with the proper Category entered into the header and the asset entered into both the Asset field of the WO tab and the Assets grid.
  4. Select a Main Task from the pick list.
  5. Press F5 to insert the combination of task and asset into the PM/Template header field.

    Note: The PM/Template field must be unique. If this combination of task and asset already exists in the PM records, you'll need to provide an alternate PM/Template name. You can also choose to edit this field if desired.

  6. From this point on, fill out the remainder of the PM/Template in the manner discussed in the How to Create a PM section.
