Tell your users about our new, much improved, help portal search functionality. The Lucity web and desktop applications include a new link to this search portal page.
Before using the Lucity Web application, an administrator must launch the Lucity Administrative tools application on a desktop which has been upgraded to Lucity 2015. Once logging in to Lucity Admin, a conversion will be started for shared tabs. If someone opens the Lucity Web application before doing this, it will not cause any data problems but many dashboard tabs will not show up on user’s dashboards.
Lucity 2015 has a new pattern for managing custom web reports. We recommend moving to the new process as soon as possible. It moves the master copy for custom web reports out of the Lucity Web hive and to a shared UNC location. This provides several advantages including improved security for the web server. See here for configuring this.
Verify the "Url for the Lucity Mobile Server Virtual Directory (Externally accessible version)" in System Settings on the Mobile tab. This is required for proper functioning of the Android and iOS applications. These will not be automatically set by the installer. See here.
A preview of the Lucity 2015r2 dashboard is available with the Lucity 2015 installation. To grant permission to access the new beta dashboard, grant "Allow Access to Beta Features" under Dashboard and User Preferences in Security.
There is a new permission available in most modules called Delete File Permission which affects document attachments. By default only uses in the Administrator group will be granted this permission.
It is now possible to control what data is cached for offline use for inventory modules. By default all inventory views and child grids will be marked for offline usage. To improve caching and synching performance, turn off the Offline Mobile flag on views and grids not needed for the offline tablets.
Clients with scripted imports for SCADA, fuelings, or other external data using Lucity.Import.exe are encouraged to configure and use Lucity.ImportAndUpdate.exe instead. Lucity.ImportAndUpdate.exe is a superior import because it populates default values, performs calculations, allows updating existing records, enforces business rules, as well as other advantages.
A new option for keeping Lucity and ArcGIS data in synch is available which uses feature services, does not require an SOE, and supports work flows such as the Esri ArcGIS Data Collector for collecting data outside of an edit session. See here for configuration information. This is not a required change, the Lucity SOE will continue to be supported for this release.
There is a new 'Always Generate Work Orders on PM Schedule' option. This causes PMs to generate new Work Orders even if previous Work Orders from the same PM have not been closed. This is enabled automatically. If you do not want this functionality please disable it in the Work Options.
Recommended Steps for Every Lucity Release
