Mobile Desktop

The Mobile Desktop installation should only be performed on workstations (laptops, tablets) that will be taken out of the office. This program allows users to take their workstations out into field and still have access to the Lucity software suite.

General Requirements

How To

  1. Open the Lucity install media and run Setup.exe, the following screen will appear:

  2. Select the Mobile Desktop option on the menu. The following window will appear:

  3. The installer checks for installation and application prerequisites.  If a required item is not found, it will be automatically installed.  

    Note: You may be required to reboot the system before the installation can continue.  If you do have to reboot, rerun the installer after your system has restarted.

  4. When this process is complete, the following window will appear:

  5. Read the Welcome screen.
  6. Click to continue. The Destination Folder window will appear:

  7. Using the button, choose the folder where you want the local application installed.

    Note: Windows Vista sp2, 7, 8, and 8.1. These operating systems block non-administrative users from editing files within the program files folder. This causes problems with writing to the mobile databases. It is suggested to either 1) Install Lucity Mobile Desktop directly to the C: drive instead of C:\Program Files, or 2) Give the Mobile user administrative access, or 3) Give the user specific Write permissions to the LucityMobileDesktop folder.

  8. Click to continue. The Server Configuration Directory window will appear:

  9. Using the button, choose the folder where your existing server configuration files are located.
  10. Click . The Ready window will appear confirming your file path choices.

  11. Verify that the options are correct.
  12. Click to continue. Now the installation process will begin. When the installation is complete the following window will appear:
