The Status Tab features a read-only grid that shows you the synch history for that laptop. The features in the grid including Record Number and the Auto ID of the Synchronization Table are described below:
Record No. |
The Auto ID of the Synchronization Table |
Synch Status |
The status of the synchronization process. This represents the process of moving the databases from the field computer to the office computer and placing new databases on the field computer. This process is separate from the actual transfer of data back into the networked database. This column can be one of three values, described below: |
Possible Synch Status |
Definition |
Completed First Synch |
Meaning the very first synchronization completed successfully. This occurs the first time a field computer is synchronized. This solely represents data being transferred to the field computer and not back to the office computer. |
Waiting to Synch |
Meaning data has been transferred from the field computer to the office computer and the system is waiting to synchronize with the field computer. This status will remain until either the user presses the Skip Processing button during the synchronization or until the data copied to the office computer has been successfully validated and transferred into the system, indicated by the Data Proc Status column. |
Completed |
Meaning the synchronization process has been completed. Once the data has either been successfully transferred in or the user has pressed the Skip Processing button, new data is sent to the Field computer and the status is changed to Completed |
Record No. |
The Auto ID of the Synchronization Table |
Last Synch Date |
The Date when the synchronization status was last modified for a particular database. |
Last Synch Time |
The Time when the synchronization status was last modified for a particular database. |
Data Proc Status |
The status of the data processing. This represents the process of transferring the data into the networked databases from the databases copied off of the Field computer. This column can be one of nine values: |
Possible Data Proc Status |
Definition |
Waiting to Process |
Meaning the service that performs the server has not yet started processing the data. |
Processing |
Meaning the service that performs the field import has started processing the data. |
Processing Final Calcs |
Meaning the final processing of the data is occurring. At this point, all data has been imported into the server database, and the system is performing any recalculations necessary to properly update costs, parts inventory dispersals, notifications, and close any relevant PMs. |
Not Transferred |
Meaning that the user had selected to manually validate and transfer this database and the database was not automatically processed. This is restricted to the inventory databases. |
V & T Processing |
This means that the system is currently processing the validation and transfer for the inventory/inspection database. |
Failed - File Not Found |
Meaning that the database path specified in the File Location column could not be found and the processing failed. |
Transferred |
Means that the inventory/inspection changes for this database were successfully transferred to the network databases. Any errors found with the validate and transfer are written to log files with the records that could not be transferred. This is unusual for field imports. These log files are written to the MOBDB\[laptop]\clint00x\directory. |
Completed |
Meaning that the work order data from the Field computer was successfully transferred into the network databases. |
Completed - With Errors |
Meaning that the data transfer process completed; however, errors were encountered and the user should reference the error log located on the server with the services. This error log is located in the Application Data directory in the local profile on the server for the user that the service is set to run under. The log file will be called GSLog[some date time stamp].htm. |
Record No. |
The Auto ID of the Synchronization Table. |
Last Proc Date |
The Date when the Data Proc status was last modified for a particular database. |
Last Proc Time |
The Time when the Data Proc status was last modified for a particular database. |
Date for File Removal |
This indicates when the file located in the File Location column will be deleted. This field is only populated when the Data Proc Status is Completed or Transferred. The field is populated with a date that is by default 7 days after the processing date. This date interval is customizable. |
File Location |
This is the location of the database that was copied from the field computer and is the database to be processed. |
Note: The Synch Status may say “Completed” even if the Data Proc Status column says something other than "Completed" due to the ability of the user to press the “Skip Processing” button. Also, the Synch Status field may say “Waiting to Synch” even though the Data Proc Status indicates “Completed” in the event the synchronization failed to copy the data to the Field computer due to abnormal termination of the synchronization program.
Note: If the Mobile Options are not set up to Automatic Validate and Transfer, no Validate databases will be listed in the Status grid. The only database listed here will be the GBAWork database that is transferred in from the field. During every synch, the GBAWork database will be transferred in regardless of whether is was modified in the field.
