Inches Tab

The Inches tab tracks how many inches of water passed through the meter to irrigate the park.

The tab displays four columns--or types--of water measurements. Each column contains readings for each of the twelve months of the year. An annual total appears at the bottom of each column.

Column

Function

Local Weather Station

Records the amount of rainfall (in inches) that fell each month, as determined by local meteorological resources.

Target Consumption

Indicates the amount of irrigation water (in inches) the agency expects to pass through the meter each month. The system automatically completes this field using data from the Water Consumption Library Record associated with the meter.

Actual Consumption

Specifies the number of inches of water that were used for irrigation. The system automatically calculates this value by:

  • Finding the Actual Consumption (Actual Ccf) for that month, which is entered on the Ccf Units tab.
  • Finding the related meter's Coverage from the Coverage (SqFt) field on the meter's General tab.
  • Calculating ((Actual Ccf)x(12x100))/Coverage

Target/Actual Difference

Indicates the difference between the Target Consumption value and the Actual Consumption value. Automatically calculated as: Actual Consumption - Target Consumption.

  • A positive number means that more water was consumed that month than planned. A negative number means less water was consumed that month than planned.
