Damage to Others records specify the type of the damage incurred, who did the damage, which equipment was involved, etc. These records are displayed in the Damage to Others grid on a Utility Locate record. Certain fields in this grid have special functions or are linked to other modules:
Damage to Others
Empl Causing Damage
The employee who caused the damage. To select an employee, click the caption button or click in the field and press F9. This list comes from the Work > Work Flow Setup > Employee module.
Equip Causing Damage
The equipment that caused the damage. To select an employee, click the caption button or click in the field and press F9. This list comes from the Work > Work Flow Setup >Equipment module.
Empl Report Damage
The employee who reported the damage. To select an employee, click the caption button or click in the field and press F9. This list comes from the Work > Work Flow Setup > Employee module.
The record also displays three grids used to track Employee Witnesses, the Amount that is Owed, and related Violations.
Samples of the grids appears below. Sort records in the grids by clicking on the headings. An up or down arrow (highlighted in orange below) indicates whether data appear in ascending or descending order.
Employee Witnesses Grid
Right-click in the grid to Add Record, or Add Multiple.
Right-click on an existing record for options to View Record, Add Record, Edit Record, Delete Record, or Add Multiple.
Right click in the grid and select Add Record. The following screen will appear.
Use the Member Code field to select a utility member the amount is owed to.
In the first Owed To field (required), enter the name of the department or entity who should be repaid for the damage. This field consists of a user-defined picklist.
The other Owed To field can be used to provide greater detail.
Complete other fields as desired.
Save and close the record.
Violations Grid
Right-click in the grid to Add Record.
Right-click on an existing record for options to View Record, Add Record, Edit Record, or Delete Record.
