Dispersal refers to the act of removing a certain number of units (>O) from the Parts Inventory module. Once the units are removed, the system updates the on-hand quantity for that part.
This dialog screen allows you to select where the inventory items are pulled from.
Enter the quantity in the left hand column labeled "Quantity." You must enter the same quantity as shown in the "Needed" window.
Note: You can disperse parts from more than one warehouse so long as the total quantity equals that of the "Needed" field at the bottom.
Upon entering the quantity, the "Disperse Parts" button will be enabled. Click to disperse the parts from the selected warehouse and return to the previous screen.
If both the "Always Use Parts Default Location" and "Force Dispersal from Mobile Warehouses" integration options are set at "No," the following work flow scenarios may occur:
If the work order does not have a mobile warehouse attached to a task and you add a new material to that same task and assign units to it, you will be prompted with the dispersal dialog. You will not be allowed to continue until you select a location from which the part is to be dispersed.
If the work order has one mobile warehouse attached to a task and you add a new material to the same task and assign units to it, the parts will automatically be dispersed from that mobile warehouse. If the warehouse does not have enough parts stored in it, a negative quantity may result after the dispersal is complete.
If the work order has more than one mobile warehouse attached to a task and you add a new material to the same task and assign units to it, the user will be prompted with the dispersal dialog. All locations (including non-mobile warehouses that are attached to the work order as equipment) will be displayed. You will not be allowed to continue until you select a location from which the part is to be dispersed.
If ONLY the "Always Use Parts Default Location" option is set at "Yes," the following work flow scenarios may occur:
If the work order does not have a mobile warehouse attached to a task and you add a new material to that same task and assign units to it, the parts will automatically be dispersed from the default location defined for that part. If the location does not have enough parts stored in it, a negative quantity may result after the dispersal is complete.
If the work order has one mobile warehouse attached to a task and you add a new material to the same task and assign units to it, the parts will automatically be dispersed from that mobile warehouse.
