The Location tab allows you to specify the service lateral's location, add addresses, and identify the pipe it connects to. The fields in this tab are described in the table below:
Field Name |
Description |
US & DS Structure fields |
You can use these fields to select the connecting pipe by choosing the pipe's unique upstream and downstream structure numbers. Both the upstream and downstream structures (the end points of a pipe) must exist in the Pipe Inventory module. With your cursor in the US Structure Number field, press F9 for a list of available pipes. Once the US Structure Number has been selected, the system will automatically fill the DS Structure Number and location information associated with each structure ID number in the Pipe Inventory module. |
Pipe Data fields |
The Pipe Data fields are automatically populated with data from the connecting pipe's inventory record in the Pipe Inventory module. These are read- only fields. Note: Depending on which fields were populated in the pipe's inventory record, some fields may remain empty in the Pipe Data grid. For example, if the Length (ft) field is not populated in the pipe's inventory record, then that field will remain empty in the Pipe Data grid. |
Service Lateral Location fields |
The Service Lateral Location fields allow you to enter the exact location of the service lateral. When in the Facility and Address fields, click on the field caption or press F9 for the pick list. If the address you enter does not match any of the addresses in the Customer Address module, you will be prompted if you want to add that address to the database. If you click "Yes," then a new record is automatically created in the Customer Address module. If you click "No," the prompt will close. |
Property ID Tag |
This field allows you to specify which property from the Customer Address module is associated with the service lateral. Click on the field caption button or press F9 to access the pick list. Only property IDs that are not already assigned to a Service Lateral record will be available for selection. This prevents you from associating the same property ID with multiple service lateral records. Note: Linking records in this manner creates a relationship from the Customer Address record by address. This can be viewed by using the Relationship button in the Customer Address record. |
Address Count |
This read-only field counts the number of address records associated with this service lateral in the Addresses grid. Follow the link for instructions on adding addresses. |
Lateral No. |
This field is to track how many service laterals go to this address. The Address and Lateral No. fields must form a unique combination. |
