The General tab allows users to enter basic information about a piece of equipment. These fields include the equipment's manufacturer, the operator of the equipment, the department that uses the equipment, and the year the equipment was manufactured. Users can also indicate whether an item is a low- or high-priority piece of equipment. Finally there are several fields to link it to other assets.

This is the email address for the person that the equipment is assigned to. This is required for Equipment Notifications. |
Work Employee |
Links a Work Flow Setup > Employee record to the equipment record. This field is only available when an agency owns the Work program. Note: The equipment will show up on the selected employee record's Issued tab. |
Plant ID |
Links a record in the Equipment Inventory to a record in the Plant Inventory. The equipment record is actually linked to a Plant Process record but this field must be filled out before the Process field. Click on the field name or press F9 within a field for a list of vehicles. |
Process |
Links a record in the Equipment Inventory to a record in the Plant Process Inventory. The Plant ID field must be filled out before this field can be. Click on the field name or press F9 within a field for a list of vehicles. |
Fleet ID |
Links a record in the Equipment Inventory to a record in the Fleet Inventory. Click on the field name or press F9 within a field for a list of vehicles. Note: This association can also be made in the Fleet Inventory using the Attached Equipment grid on the Tracking tab. |
Site ID |
Links a record in the Equipment Inventory to a record in the Facility > Site Inventory. Click on the field name or press F9 within the field for a list of sites. Note: This association can also be made in the Site Inventory using the Equipment grid on the Equip/Fleet tab. |
Building ID |
Links a record in the Equipment Inventory to a record in the Facility > Building Inventory. Click on the field name or press F9 within the field for a list of buildings. Note: This association can also be made in the Site Inventory using the Equipment grid on the Equip/Fleet tab. |
WO Equip Code Note: If an agency does not own the Work program, this field is unavailable. |
Links a record in the Equipment Inventory to a record in the Work Flow Setup > Equipment module. This function allows the piece of equipment to be used as a resource on a work order instead of as an asset. (A work order asset is the asset that is being worked on. A work order resource is an object being used to complete the work order.) Enter the Equipment ID for the Work Flow Setup > Equipment record to associate it with this record. Or, enter a new number in this field to automatically create a matching record in the Work Flow Setup > Equipment module. Hot Keys
