The Street Name List is used to establish a master list of street names for a municipality. The Names added here are a critical part of Street Name List Validation, an optional, but valuable process that ensures that when a user enters a Street Name in another Lucity module, it matches the street's recognized spelling, street type, and suffix. For such purposes, Lucity supports a generous range of standard address formats.
Common Tasks
To open the Names module, select General > Street Name > Names.
Use the pick-lists to complete the Street Dir, Prefix Type, Street Type, and Street Suffix fields.
Enter core name of the street in the Street Name field or use the pick-list to select the name if it already has been added for a similar street. (This field is required.)
Click the button to save the Street Name.
When you save the system will automatically calculate the Street Index field using the other fields on the street record and the Street Alias module. The Street Index field used to validate street names.
Activates the Street Name Validation function. When active, any street name a user enters into the Address fields is checked against the Street Name List. If the name entered does not match a street in the list, the user cannot save the record.
