When users go into offline mode the app downloads parts of their dashboard, the views and forms, and their inventory data. This allows them to continue to work when they are disconnected from the internet.
Configuring the Dashboard for Offline Mode
The dashboard controls what work order and work request data is saved to the tablet when it goes offline. To implement this functionality:
When a tablet is taken offline, the work orders and requests in those frames are saved to the tablet. The number of work orders and requests that are saved from each plugin is limited by the Maximum records to return per filter for offline use setting, which is located in Lucity Admin under System > Setting > Mobile tab.
Note: The number of work orders/requsts that can be transfered to a tablet is limited and varies from one device to another. Generally, it is more efficient to limit the number of work orders that are transfered to a tablet when it is taken offline. Therefore, the offline frames should not collect a large number of work orders.
Configuring Modules for Download
When Lucity mobile goes offline it automatically downloads data from all inventory modules. This can take a great deal of time so it does not download the data every time. Admins should configure how often it downloads using the Offline Mobile Cache Setup in Lucity Desktop or Web.
