Request/Work Order Status

Requests and Work Orders are closely linked. The Status of a Request often reflects the status of the related Work Order(s).

Status Updates When Requests Are Linked to Work Orders

Lucity automatically updates status-related fields on the Request when a user sets or modifies the Status on a linked Work Order:

Request Status

Description

Work Order Status

2|Assigned To Work Order

The system checks this Request field when a Work Order is created from an open Request or linked to an open Request.

941|Work Order On Hold

When the Status of all associated Work Orders is set to 941|WO On Hold, the Status of the Request changes accordingly.

  • If at least one associated Work Order remains active, the Status of the Request does not change.

941|WO On Hold

951|Work Order Canceled

When the Status of all associated Work Orders is set to 951|WO Cancelled, the Status of the Request changes accordingly.

  • Requires the Auto Update Req Status when WO Complete option to be enabled in Work Options.
  • If the option is disabled, the system asks the user whether the related Request should be marked as complete.

951|WO Canceled

998|WO Complete

When enabled and when all associated Work Orders are set to > 951 or the Work Order linked to the Request is closed, the Status of the Request changes accordingly.

  • Requires the Auto Update Req Status when WO Complete option to be enabled in Work Options.
  • If the option is disabled, the system asks the user whether the related Request should be marked as complete.

> 951

Note: Reopening a Work Order associated with a Request does not reopen the Request.

Status Updates When Links between Requests and Work Orders Are Removed

When a user disassociates a Request from a Work Order, the system checks the Request > Tracking grid and reverts the Status of the Request to the Status listed before the Work Order and Request were linked.
