Map Layer Access

When configuring the Lucity GIS Views you will select an ArcGIS web map to display. However, this only controls the initial web map that is displayed it doesn't neccesarily control which webmaps the user will have access to. Users can use the Swap Basemap Basemap32, Swap Web Map Swap webmap, Swap Lucity Map or Lucity Basemap Map Selector tools in the Table of Contents to change the view to any map they have access to in either GIS system. This section talks about how to control webmap access.

Portal for ArcGIS Web Maps

ArcGIS Webmaps

Access to Web Maps is controlled within your ArcGIS Portal. There you control which ArcGIS user has access to which webmap. When the user opens the Lucity Web Map they are required to login with their ArcGIS credentials (unless they have ArcGIS SSO setup with Lucity). The Swap Basemap Basemap32 and Swap Web Map Swap webmap tools will display the available maps in the web map gallery. By default the gallery will display all maps the user has permission to view.

Control with the Lucity GIS View

When configuring the view you select a Web Map or a legacy Lucity Map. If you do not want to allow users to view any other web maps that they have access to then you can just edit the GIS View properties and disable the Swap Basemap , Basemap32Load/Swap Web Map Swap webmap, Load/Swap Lucity Map Map Selector tools. Users will then be able to load the map but the Table of Contents will not contain the tools to switch maps.
