Toolbar and Header

At the top of the Import and Update tool is a toolbar that allows users to add import configurations and to locate and use existing configurations.

Navigation Keys

Enable users to navigate between saved settings.

Add configuration

Add Template

Add From XML

The Add New button adds a new blank import configuration.

The drop down arrow gives the option to:

  • Add Template - This adds a new import configuration based on a template.
  • Add From XML - This loads import configurations that were exported to an xml file.

    security This requires the Admin > Import and Update > General - Add permission.

edit configuration

Edit Configuration

Modifies the current import configuration.

security This requires the Admin > Import and Update > General - Edit permission.

save

Save Configuration

Save as Template

The Save button saves any changes made to the current import configuration.

The drop down arrow gives the option to Save As Template. This saves the current configuration as a template which you can then load later to create new configurations.

Cancel Edit

Cancel Edits

Revokes any edits made and exits edit mode for the current import configuration.

Import

Import Records

Import Group

The Import button runs the current import configuration.

The drop down arrow gives the option to Group Import. This runs multiple imports tied to the current import configuration.

Deletes the current import configuration.

security This requires the Admin > Import and Update > General - Delete permission.

Schedule

Scheduler

Schedules the import and update to be run by the Lucity Services on a scheduled basis.

Change Login

Change Login

Enables the user to log in as a different user. This feature is disabled if the tool was launched from inside Lucity Desktop.

local settings

Local Settings

These are settings that affect how the copy of the import and update on this machine runs.

  • DisplayAdvancedMappingFields - Enables extra controls on the Mappings tab to change the order in which fields are imported..
  • DisplayTrackingDays - How many days worth of tracking records the Tracking grid should show.
  • PerformanceOptimized - Bypass Validaiton Functionality. If turned on it may make troubleshooting invalid records more difficult.
  • ShowFullError - Show the full error message including the call stack for errors.
  • TreatWarningAsErrors - Treat warnings that would normally appear during manual data entry as errors.

Enables users to quickly select a saved import configuration.

export

Export Configuration

Exports an .xml copy of the Import and Update configuration.

Import Name **

Name used to identify the current import configuration.

Import Description

Brief overview of what the import is designed to do.
