The Renumber tool enables users to renumber one or more assets while in the map. This action changes theassets' Common IDs in both Lucity and in the geodatabase at the same time. The renumber tool supports the following actions:
Renumbering by manually typing in New Common IDs
Renumbering automatically using a Number Generator
Renumbering by pasting in a list of new numbers. To make this work the following keyboard shortcuts are supported for copying Current Common IDs out and pasting in new common IDs from another source like Excel.
CTRL + C: Copies all fields from the selection to the clipboard.
CTRL + V: Paste a range of new Common IDs (i.e. from Excel).
CTRL + Z: Undo the last paste.
DELETE: Deletes the new Common ID for each selected row in the grid.
Select one or more assets that are in the same feature class in the map.
Click the tool.
The system validates the selected assets to make sure that:
they are all in the same feature class;
the geometry is valid;
the layer is linked to Lucity;
the layer has a field mapped to the Lucity module’s Common ID field; and that
the linked module supports renumbering.
Once the validation is complete, the Renumber screen appears, listing the records that passed validation.
Note: Click on a record in the grid to zoom to it.
Set a new Common ID.
To manually enter a new ID,type it into the New Common ID field next to the record.
To automatically generate the number, check the Use Number Generator box next to the record.
To automatically generate the number for all assets in the list, check the Use number generator for all features box.
Note: The Number Generator options are only available if a Number Generator is set up for the related feature class within the Lucity Geodatabase Configuration in Arc Catalog.
Note: You can copy a range of numbers from Excel and import them into the New Common ID column.
After setting a new Common ID for all features, click the OK button. When the renumbering process is complete, the following pop-up appears:
Note: If any records fail the renumbering process, the process will stop.
