The Location tab fields store address and location information, such as X and Y coordinates and GPS data. You are not required to record GPS coordinate data in these fields, particularly if you use a geodatabase to maintain this information. These fields are only provided for your convenience. Other fields related to maps and drawings are available for your specific documentation needs. The GIS SubType Text field is automatically filled if subtypes are defined in the GIS system. You can only edit this field in the GIS geodatabase environment. If your system is not integrated with GIS, this field will not be available.
This tab also features a Field Ties grid which allows you to document where an asset is located in the field (e.g. 2 feet from south side of house). This grid is especially useful for underground assets.
To add a record in this grid, complete the following steps:
To edit or view a field tie record in the grid, Right - click on it and select Edit Record or View Record.
