Field Name

Definition

Warranty Number

This user-defined number can be used to help track the warranty.

Note: This field is required to save the record. It must be unique.

Warranty Type

This field indicates the type of warranty in this record (i.e. 30-day, 90-day).

Supplier

The person or group that warranties the asset (i.e. supplier, manufacturer, 3rd party).

Additional Cost

The additional cost to purchase the warranty.

Warranty Status

Indicates whether the warranty is active or inactive.

Description

A text field to briefly describe the warranty.

Warranty Open Date

The date the warranty period began.

Extended Warranty

Mark this box if this is an extended warranty.

Expiration Date

The warranty expiration date interacts with the Work Orders module. When you edit a Work Order, you'll receive a warranty notice if an asset item has an open warranty.

Review Date

The date the warranty is up for review or renewal.

Mileage Coverage

For a fleet item, this field allows you to indicate the mileage covered by the warranty period (i.e. 30,000 miles).

Note: This field is only available if the Entity Type is a Fleet Vehicle, Fleet Component, or Fleet Subcomponent.

Starting Mileage

For a fleet item, this field allows you to indicate the asset's odometer reading at the start of the warranty period.

Note: This field is only available if the Entity Type is a Fleet Vehicle, Fleet Component, or Fleet Subcomponent.

Ending Mileage

This field is calculated automatically by the system. It reflects the value in the Mileage Coverage field plus the value in the Starting Mileage field. This represents what the odometer reading will be at the end of the warranty period.

Note: This field is only available if the Entity Type is a Fleet Vehicle, Fleet Component, or Fleet Subcomponent.
