At the top of the Custom Inventory window you will see header data. This data remains at the top of your screen when you use the tabs to navigate through the record. It allows you to include unique identification information for each custom record. The General Number is automatically generated by the system. The Alternate ID, Name, Type Code, Sub-Type code, Class, and Manufacturer are all user-defined.
Note: In order to save your changes to the record, the Alternate ID field must be filled in.
