Permit Type Setup
The Work Permit Type Setup module enables an agency to establish standard Permit Types with related checklists and fees. Later, when creating a Permit record, users can run the "Load Permit Type with Checklists and Fees" Toolkit to load Checklist items and itemized Fees associated with the Permit Type into the Permit record.

To access the Work Permit Type Setup module, select Work > Permits > Type Setup .
How to create a new Permit Type Setup record
Open the Work > Permits > Type Setup module. Click Add in the module toolbar. The Work Permit Type Setup form appears. Open the Permit Type picklist . At the bottom of the picklist, click Edit List , then Add New . Enter a Code and Type (name) for the new Permit Type . Click Add. The new item now appears among the picklist options. Click Exit Editing. Choose the new Permit Type you created and click Select . Do not enter a Permit Type Fee on this form. The Permit Type Fee is a system-calculated sum of values in this Permit Type 's Fees grid. Save and close the record. The new Permit Type appears in the Permit Type Setup grid. Follow the instructions below to add Checklist items and Fees to the new Permit Type , if desired.
How to add a Checklist to a Permit Type Setup record
Open the Work > Permits > Type Setup module. Use the button to expand the Permit Type Setup record to which you want to add Checklist items. In the Work Permit Type Setup Checklist grid, click Add . The Permit Type Setup Checklist form appears. In the Checklist Item field (required), describe the action that should take place or the requirement that must be met in order to issue the permit. Save and close the record. The new Checklist item now appears in the Permit Type Setup Checklist grid. How to load Checklist items from one Permit Type Setup record into another
Loads Checklist items from another Permit Type Setup record into the current Permit Type Setup record's Checklist grid.
How to load an existing Checklist
Open the Work > Permits > Type Setup module. Use the button to expand the Permit Type Setup record into which you want to load Checklist items. In the Checklist grid, click the Toolkit and select the Load Existing Checklist Items From Permit Type tool. The following pop-up appears: Note: This list only includes Permit Type Setup records with existing Checklists .
Select a Permit Type Setup record. Click OK . The system loads the that Permit Type Setup record's Checklist items into the current Permit Type Setup record's Checklists grid.
How to add a Fee to a Permit Type Setup record
Open the Work > Permits > Permit Type Setup module. Use the button to expand the Permit Type Setup record to which you want to add fees. In the Work Permit Type Setup Fees grid, click Add . The Work Permit Type Setup Fees form appears. Set the Fee amount. What do you want to do?To add an existing Fee :Click the Fee picklist. A list of existing Fee records appears. Choose the desired Fee and click Select .or To add a new Fee option:Click the Fee picklist. A list of existing Fee records appears. At the bottom of the picklist, click Edit List , then Add New . Enter a Code and Type (name) for the new Fee . Click Add. The new Fee now appears among the picklist options. Choose the desired Fee and click Select . Save and close the record. The selected Fee appears in the Permit Type Setup record's Fees grid.
How to reorder records
Locate the grid that you want to reorder records within.
Click the Reorder tool. A Reorder pop-up similar to the following appears.
Select an item and use the Move Up or Move Down arrow buttons to change its place in the list. Continue the process described in Step 3 until all items are in the desired order. When the list is in the desired order, click OK . The grid's contents will now appear in the designated order.
