PM Templates are pre-configured layouts of standardized maintenance plans. These enable you to quickly create PM records for new assets that are added into the system.
Example: An organization creates a PM Template for pump maintenance. Whenever a new pump is added, you can quickly create a new PM record for that pump.
Using a PM Template
PM Templates are used by the following tool:
Create PM Tool - Asset Modules, Inspection Modules, Web Map
Enter a unique, alphanumeric code and description in the PM/Template and PM/Template Text fields. These are both required fields.
Select a Category (required). The selected Category determines the available Problems, Causes, Crews, Tasks, etc.
Select a Main Task (required).
Enter other fields to define the work, such as:
Problem
Cause
Complete fields to define who will be responsible for the Work Order:
Supervisor
Lead Worker
Crew
Mark the PM Template checkbox.
DO NOT check the WO Template or Scheduled PM checkboxes.
Complete other fields as desired.
Because this is a Template, the scheduling fields will be inactive.
Click Save . Close the record.
Click the to expand the Template record.
Add other desired Work Order information such as Tasks or Resources that would commonly be used to complete the work.
Note: Templates do not typically have Assets associated to them because the PM Template will usually be used to set up maintenance programs for different Assets. However, Assets can be added if needed.
Enter comments in the Comments grid if desired.
The information you have designated to appear on the PM will appear every time you use the Template.
