Each Lucity Security Group can be granted access to multiple GIS Views. To control which View opens by default, an administrator must establish default Views.
There are two types of default Views:
Global Default
Applies to every Lucity user.
Group Default
Serves as the default for a specific Group. A Group Default view overrides the Global Default.
For the Group Default map to apply to a user, he or she must:
be part of the assigned Security Group; and
have that Group set as his or her Default Rules Group in Lucity Security.
When the Web Map is opened using the Show in Map tool the following logic is employed to identify which GIS View is displayed:
The system will first try and use the GIS View that is associated to the Lucity module view in which the Show in Map button was clicked.
If no GIS View has been associated to the module view, or the map is not being launched from a module view, the system will open the GIS View associated to the user’s Default Rules Group set in Lucity Security.
If there is not a GIS View associated to the user’s Default Rules Group, the system will open the system default GIS View.
If no GIS View has been assigned the system default, a random GIS View will be used.
Open the GIS View that you want to be a Global Default.
In the Web Map, click the Design Mode button. The Design Mode pop-up appears:
Select Default Settings from the pop-up. The following screen appears:

In the Users grid, select the user you would like to assign a Default Rules Group.
