The External Document Link tool enables users to configure Lucity to search for documents in a third-party document-management system.
What system(s) can I integrate with Lucity?
Lucity can link to any document-management system that allows users to access documents through a URL that includes the ID for the document asset.
What do I need in Lucity?
Each Lucity Assetrecord must store the ID that the document-management system uses to identify the document. Ideally, the Common ID applied in Lucity will be the same as the ID used in the document-management system.
This function requires the Lucity Apps > Lucity Web > Configure External Document Links permission.
In the Lucity module, find the field that contains the ID that is used by the external document-management system.
Open the Field Properties for that field and write down its PropertyName.
Return to the Lucity module and click the External Documents button in the Toolbar. The following pop-up appears:
Click the Add button:
Enter the URL for the external document system.
At the spot in the URL that should contain the ID the Document System uses for the asset, enter %%PropertyName%% using the property name you collected earlier.
Provide a description to help users identify the source of the documents.
