Classification Header Data

At the top of the Classification module window you will see header data. This data remains at the top of your screen as you use the tabs to navigate through the record. The header fields are described in the table below:

Field Name

Definition

Classification

This field allows you to identify or name the classification you will be entering.

Note: This is a required field that features two parts: the numerical code and the classification description or name. Creating classifications allows you to group employees by trade or craft. You can also classify types of equipment.

Class Type

This field allows you to specify whether the classification includes personnel or equipment.

Note:  The class type you select will determine which list of resources is available in the Resources grid. For example, if you select equipment for your class type, then the resource pick list will only contain pieces of equipment from the Equipment module.

Hourly Rate

This field records the hourly rate for the classification.

Unit of Measure

This is a code-description, pick list field. The first part allows you to input 5 alphanumeric characters to define the measurement code. The second part allows up to 25 alphanumeric characters to describe or name the unit of measurement. We have preset a few commonly used codes: 1=Hours and 2=Each. All other codes are user-defined.
