The asset cost calculation will be calculated using two components: assigned Task cost and unassigned task cost.
Assigned Task Costs: This is calculated based on all of the tasks that are explicitly assigned to an asset.
Unassigned Tasks: This is calculated based on all of the tasks that are assigned to no assets on the work order
The Asset WO Cost = Sum of all assigned task costs + the Unassigned cost
There are 3 ways that task units may be calculated:
On any work order where there are no tasks assigned to assets, the old method will be used. The old method matches tasks to assets based on asset completion date and task end date. If there are multiple tasks on the same day for the same action, the assets are equally distributed to the 2 tasks.
For any task that is assigned assets, the units will be calculated based on the assets assigned to the task (using the category unit’s method assigned to the assets). If there are multiple asset types, the system will always perform a count (and will not perform a sum).
For any task that is on a work order with task/asset relationships but is NOT associated to any specific assets, the task is assumed to be assigned equally across all assets on the work order and the units are calculated accordingly.
