The Merge tool enables users to combine two matching Sewer,Storm, Distribution Water, Recycled Water, or Raw WaterPipes together. If desired, the tool will delete the associated feature at the merge point.
The Merge tool works only when two linear features that are snapped together are selected.
Select two adjacent, matching, linear features in the map by either 1) dragging a box around the two Pipes or 2) clicking on one Pipe and then holding down the SHIFT key while clicking on the second Pipe.
Click the Merge tool on the Lucity Tools toolbar.
The Merge form appears. The three sections at the top of the form display information about the two assetsbeing merged and, if applicable, the related feature where the two features connect.
In the top-center box (Existing Split Feature), choose how you want the system to handle the feature following the merge:
Don't Delete Feature: Retains the split feature in both the Asset Inventory module and in the structure feature class.
Delete Feature From GIS Only: Retains the split featurein the Asset Inventory module, but removes it from the related feature class. Note: This option is disabled if the tool cannot locate an assetwithin one map unit of the common End Point for the two linear assets.
Delete from GIS and Lucity: Removes the split featurefrom both the Asset Inventory module and the feature class. Note: This option is disabled if the tool cannot locate an assetwithin one map unit of the common End Point for the two linear assets or if the split featuredoesn't exist in the Asset Inventory module.
Structure Status: If the split featureis to be retained in the Asset Inventory, select a Status. This sets the status field for the asset record.
In the New Pipe Info section, choose one of the following options:
Manually Enter. If you select this option, enter the new ID into the New Alt Pipe ID field.
Use the Lucity Number Generator function (enabled only when an Alt Pipe ID field in the feature class uses a number generator).
Use End Point IDs.
Use the Existing From/US Pipe ID.
Use the Existing To/DS Pipe ID.
Note: The New Alt Pipe ID cannot be the same as one of the existing Alt Pipe IDs.
In the New Pipe Attributes section, indicate whether the system should copy the new Pipe’s attributes from:
the Existing From Pipe,
the Existing To Pipe.
To retain the pre-merge records for both assets in Asset Inventory (optional), enable the Archive Pre-merged Pipes option and set a Status for the pre-merge assets.
Historical records that were attached to the original assets are still connected to the archived assets.
Current records (like PMs) will be connected to the resulting pipes.
The archived Pipe cannot be shown in the map.
Users cannot create Requests, Work Orders or PM/Work Templates for the archived Pipe.
Click OK. The following message appears when the merge is complete:
