Setup: ArcMap-to-Lucity Integration

1. Open the Lucity Administration Tool.
2. Go to GIS > Connection Strings.

   

3. Click Add Connection String.
4. In the Name field, enter DEFAULT. (The first database in the list must have this name).
   • If this is not the first connection string, enter any name.
5. Under Database Type, select SDE.
6. Complete the following fields:
   1. Database - Enter the name of the geodatabase.
   2. Server - Enter the path for the server that stores the database.
   3. Instance - Provide the connection instance for the geodatabase.
   4. Version* - Indicate the version of the geodatabase that stores the GIS data.
   5. Authentication Type* - Choose how Lucity should attempt to authenticate with the geodatabase.
   6. Username/Password* - If the Authentication Type is DB, provide the login credentials that Lucity should use to connect to the geodatabase.

      * The Lucity tools in ArcMap use this information to collect necessary data from Lucity-linked feature classes that are not currently in the map.

7. This connection information must exactly match the connection string an agency uses to connect to its feature classes in ArcMap.

   Users must have the Lucity App Admin > Run permission to access this section of the Lucity Administration tool.

1. Open ArcCatalog and in the Lucity GIS toolbar select Geodatabase Configuration.
2. Select the geodatabase connection to which you'd like to add the feature class and right-click on the node.

   Note: This option is not available for replica geodatabases; instead, see How To Associate a Feature Class, below.

3. Select Add Feature Class. The following dialog appears:

   

4. Select a Lucity Asset module in the first drop-down box
5. Click OK. The Geodatabase configuration is updated to indicate the new feature type.
6. Using the Feature Class Name field select the feature class you would like to link to the Lucity module. This must be established before the related feature class configuration can be saved.

   

7. Click on a different node to automatically save the new feature class component or continue to complete the remainder of the feature class and field-mapping configuration.

More detailed information about the Geodatabase configuration

1. In the Geodatabase Configuration tool, select the desired feature class. A list of available Lucity fields appears on the right.
2. Decide which feature class field should be linked.
3. Look at the Lucity module and decide what fields you want to link to your GIS data. You can get the field's caption or CTRL + Right -click to view the field properties to obtain the field's name.
4. In the geodatabase configuration, select the feature class you are linking to Lucity.
5. In the grid on the right, find the Lucity field, using its field name or display name.
6. Map the field by:
   1. Clicking the Field Lookup button for a list of fields from the associated feature class.
      • The following pop-up will appear:

      

      • Click Only show fields with compatible data type to filter out fields that aren't the same type as the field you are mapping to.
      • Click Only show unmapped fields to filter out fields that aren't already currently mapped to.
      • Select a field and click OK.
   2. Or Type the geodatabase field name in the Feature Class Field Name field.
