Feature Class Schema

Lucity GIS has tools that perform various functions that affect the schema of a Feature class.

These tools can be applied on individual feature classes or all feature classes in a connected geodatabase. There are also tools to change field and feature class aliases to match Lucity. All of these tools are primarily for organizations that are using a geodatabase that isn't based on the Lucity schema.

Note: If using an sde all of these tools will prompt for geodatabase credentials that have the necessary permissions to make schema changes.

Note: The person running these tools must be able to acquire an exclusive lock on each feature class.

Select the geodatabase connection, OR the feature class to be updated
Right-click on the selected geodatabase OR feature class and select Feature Class Schema > Add....
A login screen will appear:

This screen is asking for a geodatabase admin user name and password. This user must have permission to perform the tools function. Make an authentication choice and enter if username and password if needed. Click OK.
A confirmation screen similar to the following one will appear. This is a warning about what is about to occur and that nobody else should be accessing the geodatabase at this time.
Select Yes and the tool will run.
The results will be displayed in a validation window.

Select the geodatabase connection, OR the feature class to be updated
Right-click on the selected geodatabase OR feature class and select Feature Class Schema > One of the tools.

The Add or Remove Attribute Index screen will appear:
Select whether you want to Add attribute index or Delete attribute index.
Select which fields you want to Index.
If you choose Other field select one or more fields from the grid.
Select OK and the tool will run.
The results will be displayed in a validation window.

Right-click on the selected geodatabase OR feature class and select Feature Class Schema > Set....

Tool	Result	Purpose
Add Lucity Auto ID field *	Adds the LucityLink field to the feature class(es)	Stores the system defined record number in the feature class.
Add Lucity In DB field *	Adds the InLucity field to the feature class(es)	Flags whether the GIS Feature exists in the Lucity database.
Add Modified/Synced fields *	Adds the Last Modified By, Last Modified Time, Last Synced By fields	These fields record when and who last modified a feature and when it was last synced to Lucity.
Add/Remove Attribute Indexes	Creates indexes for your feature classes.	Creating indexes for your ID fields speeds up performance for the Lucity GIS Integration.
Set field alias equal to Lucity Field caption	Updates a feature classes fields aliases to match the field captions found in Lucity. This only affects feature class fields that are linked to Lucity.	This is designed to simplify/standardize the field captions between ArcMap and Lucity.
Set feature class alias equal to Lucity module name	Updates the feature class alias to match the Lucity module name.	This is designed to simplify/standardize the feature class captions between ArcMap and Lucity.
