The Lucity GIS Edit extension does not automatically assume that a feature deleted from ArcMap should be deleted from Lucity. Therefore, if users delete a feature using the Delete key or some other method in ArcMap, the feature is deleted from the geodatabase, but remains in Lucity. To delete features from both the geodatabase and Lucity, users must implement the Delete tool on the Lucity GIS Edit toolbar
Warning: The Lucity GIS Delete tool will delete all selected features from both the geodatabase AND Lucity Desktop. Use extreme caution when using this tool to prevent the unintentional deletion of features.
Use the ESRI selection tool to select the feature(s) you wish to delete.
Use the selection window in the Table Of Contents to confirm which features are selected. Make sure only the feature(s) you wish to delete are selected. (This step is optional, but highly recommended.)
Click the Lucity Delete tool on the Lucity GIS Edit toolbar. The following prompt appears.
Click Yes to confirm that the system should delete the specified number of features. Click No to abandon the operation.
To complete the process, Save the edit session. Once the Save process is complete, the features will no longer exist in the map or in Lucity.
Note: If the wrong feature is accidentally deleted using the Delete tool, it can recovered by stopping the edit session and NOT saving the edits.
Modify the selectable layers in the map using the ESRI selection window in the Table Of Contents. Only map layer(s) that contain features you wish to delete should be made selectable. (This step is optional, but highly recommended.)
Click the Lucity Delete tool on the Lucity GIS Edit toolbar.
Using the Lucity Delete tool, select the features(s) you wish to delete by drawing a box around them. The following prompt appears in order to ask the user to confirm the action:
Click Yes. The features are automatically deleted and should no longer appear in the map. Click No to abandon the operation.
To complete the deletion process, Save the edit session. Once the process has been completed, the features will no longer exist in the map or in Lucity.
Note: If the wrong feature is accidentally deleted using the Delete tool, a user may recover it by stopping the edit session and NOT saving the edits.
