General Tab

A city may issue a permit to allow a drain layer, to create a new connection, to authorize a seal off, or to make repairs. It also may issue excavation permits to allow a crew to install a service lateral. The General tab helps an agency track permit numbers, permit issuance details, permit dates, and fees issued or paid. It can also be used to record the name of the drain plumber that installed the service lateral, the plumber's license number, and plumbing inspection results.

Permit # *

Helps identify the record. This field may be either automatically generated by the system or entered manually . If the Permit # is set to be automatically generated, the field is not editable. The Sewer Options module provides options to control this field.

Discharge

Records the amount of sewer discharge this permit covers. The Discharge field, along with data from the Sewer Permit Fee Setup module, may be used to automatically complete the Permit Fee field.

Permit Fee

Indicates the cost of the permit. This field can be completed automatically using the data from the Discharge field and the Sewer Permit Fee Setup module. If the Discharge rate on the permit record falls between established Low Discharge and High Discharge rates on the Permit Fee Setup record, then the related Permit Fee is used to update this field. However, this field may be populated manually, as well.
