Pipes Tab

The Pipes tab contains three grids that are used to show: 1) which pipes are part of the rehab project; 2) how those pipes connect to buildings; and 3) what type of rehabilitation work the model suggests for each of those pipes.

The Pipes in Project grid lists all pipes that are part of the rehab project. The system adds pipes when a user runs one of the Toolkit options in the Pipe Analysis Details module. The toolkit functions enable users to associate pipes with this Rehab Project module from either a single Details record or filtered set of records.

A sample of the Pipes in Project grid appears below. Sort records in the grid by clicking on the headings. An up or down arrow (highlighted in orange below) indicates whether data appear in ascending or descending order.

The record selected in this grid controls the records that are displayed in the other two grids.

Right-click on a pipe in the grid and select Edit Record. The following pop-up will appear to display some attributes for the pipe:
Use the fields provided to record the Estimated Cost, Number of Building Taps, Pipe Length, Pipe Diameter, Surface Type, and Material Type. The Basin and Access Type data are carried over from the related Pipe Inventory record.
Record custom information in the user-defined fields at the bottom of the Pipe Details tab. These fields include:
- Code-type - User-defined, pick list fields.
- Alphanumeric - Allows users to enter letters or numbers in any combination.
- Check-box - Used to indicate yes/no or on/off.
- Numerical - Accepts numbers only.
- Date - Provides a pop-up calendar that enables the user to select a date.
Record any comments, if desired, on the tab provided.
Save and close the record.

The Pipe Building Connections grid displays inspection observations that are related to building connections for the pipe that is currently selected in the Pipes in Project grid. To view a different pipe's building connections, click on a that pipe in the Pipes in Project grid.

The records that appear in this grid relate to the record selected in the Pipes in Project grid.

Select a record in the Pipes in Project grid.
Right-click on the record and select View Record.
The following pop-up appears with connection information:

The Pipe Individual Rehab Items grid displays individual rehab tasks identified during the model run for the pipe highlighted in the Pipes in Project grid. To view a different pipe's rehab tasks, click on that pipe in the Pipes in Project grid.

The records that appear in this grid are controlled by the record selected in the Pipes in Project grid.

Select a record in the Pipes in Project grid.
Right-click in the Pipe Individual Rehab Items grid and select Add Record. The following window appears:
Use the fields provided to record the Repair #, Start and Stop footages, pipe Length, and Estimated Cost.
Click in the Work Task field to select a Rehab Task from the pick list. These options come from the Rehab Work Tasks and Costs module.
- The Task Selected checkbox is checked automatically if the task was selected during the model run.
