PACP Work Tasks per Defect Tab

The PACP Work Tasks per Defect tab contains a grid that stores additional selection criteria for the record. This data helps to determine the rehabilitation or replacement methods to be used when certain defects are observed in a PACP Pipe Inspection record. The method selected is based on the defect's Structural Rating or O&M Rating.

A sample of the PACP Work Tasks per Defect grid appears below. Sort records in the grid by clicking on the headings.  An up or down arrow (highlighted in orange below) indicates whether data appear in ascending or descending order.

• Double-click on an existing record to open it.
• Right-click in the grid to add a record.
• Right-click on an existing record for options to View Record, Add Record, Edit Record, or Delete Record.

How To Add a PACP Task per Defect Record

1. Right-click in the grid and select Add Record. The following window appears:

   

2. Select a Defect (required). Click on the caption button or press F9 for a list of defects from the Inspection Setup module.
3. For each defect, choose up to two Structural Work Tasks and up to two O&M Work Tasks and set minimum ratings to tell the model when to select these work tasks.
   • These rehabilitation and replacement work tasks are those that the model will use when the identified defect is observed in a selected pipe.
4. Enter the minimum defect rating required to select a specific rehab task.
   • Struct Rating 1 - The minimum Structural observation rating required to select Struct Task 1.
   • Struct Rating 2 - The minimum Structural observation rating required to select Struct Task 2.
   • O&M Rating 1 - The minimum O&M observation rating required to select O&M Task 1.
   • O&M Rating 2 - The minimum O&M observation rating required to select O&M Task 2.

     Note: The model processes the Ratings fields in order from top to bottom. When specifying ratings, enter the higher rating in the Rating 1 field.

     Note: Rating 2 is not required.

5. Next to each Rating field is a Task field. Select the task that should be performed when the defect rating is greater than the minimum. Click on a field caption or press F9 for a pick list of tasks from the Rehab Work Tasks and Costs module.
   • Struct Task 1 - This Structural Replacement Task is selected when the minimum Struct Rating 1 is met.
   • Struct Task 2 - This Structural Rehabilitation Task is selected when the minimum Struct Rating 2 is met.
   • O&M Task 1 - This O&M Replacement Task is selected when the minimum O&M Rating 1 is met.
   • O&M Task 2 - This O&M Rehabilitation Task is selected when the minimum O&M Rating 2 is met.
6. Save and close the record.

Example

To specify tasks for different ratings of a root defect, configure the model to Remove Roots for all defects with a Rating greater than 2, and Reline the Pipe for all defects with a Rating greater than 4.

• Setup Tab
  • Select the "Roots" Defect.
  • Enter "4" in the O&M Rating 1 field, and select "Reline Pipe" in the O&M Task 1 field.
  • Enter "2" in the O&M Rating 2 field, and select "Remove Roots" in the O&M Task 2 field.
• Model Run
  • When the model runs on a pipe with a root defect with a rating of 5, it selects the O&M Task 1: Reline Pipe task because 5 is greater than 4 .
  • When the model runs on a pipe with a root defect with a rating of 3, it skips the O&M Task 1 (the criteria is unmet) and checks the pipe against O&M Rating 2. The rating, 3, is greater than the established minimum of 2; so, the model selects O&M Task 2.
