SMTP Tab

The Email Generator references information in the SMTP tab to connect to the server to send emails.

Go to the SMTP tab.
Configure the server through which the Email Generator will send messages.
- In the Server Address field, enter the email server's name.
- In the Port Number field, enter the port through which the Email Generator will access the email server.
- Mark whether the Generator should use SSL to access the email server.
  Note: If using SSL, the administrator must install the self-signed certificate for the mail server on the server running the Lucity Services. That certificate must be installed to the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store.
  
  Note: These settings are reflected in the Lucity Administration Tool, under System > Settings > Settings with Custom Interface tab.
Configure the user through which the Email Generator will connect to the server.
- To enter credentials, click Change Credentials. This allows an administrator to edit the SMTP User and SMTP Password fields for this session.
- Enter the SMTP User and SMTP Password.
  - Use the Show Password setting to display the password for this session.
When changes are complete, click Save.
Run the configuration for each additional client.

Server Address	The STMP server's address.
Port Number	The port the email generator should connect through.
Enable SSL	Tells the program that it should be using SSL. (This does not install a certificate.)
Test Connection	Click this to check to see if the services can connect to the SMTP server using the given settings.
Change Credentials	Enables the SMTP User and SMTP Password fields. If the User and Password were filled out previously, the SMTP Password field is automatically cleared out when this setting is checked.
SMTP User	The Windows user through which the Email Generator should access the server.
SMTP Password	The password for the Windows user that is used to access the server.
Show Password	Displays what is being typed in the SMTP Password field. The system will only display the password until the Save button is clicked.
