Peak Hour Count

When Peak Hour Count is selected as the count class, the Traffic Volume Intersection Leg Counts display looks like this:

Peak Hour Count

As you can see, only the Peak Counts fields are available to the user; all others are grayed out.  To enter peak count details, complete the steps below:

  1. Click edit to enter edit mode.
  2. Enter the counts for the number of vehicles entering the intersection from the left, thru, and right.  The sum of these counts will be calculated by the system and will appear in the Total field.
  3. Enter the percent of heavy vehicles and pedestrians through the intersection.
  4. Enter the ADT percent factor.  This percent will be multiplied by the value in the Total field.  The final calculation will appear in the Calc ADT field.
  5. Click to save your changes.
  6. Click to cancel your changes.
  7. Click to close the window.

Note:  The sum of the Total fields from each segment record will be calculated by the system and entered into the Peak Total field of the general tab.  The sum of the Calc ADT fields from each segment record will be calculated by the system and entered into the Calculated ADT field of the general tab.  These calculations will reflect the ADT values for the entire intersection.

Note: You cannot delete Peak Hour Count records; however, you can highlight a record and Right-click to select View Record or Edit Record.
