General Tab

This tab records basic information about your street subsegment.  Many of the fields in this tab are automatically filled by the system when a Subsegment Code is selected. These include the Classification, Pavement Type, Surface Type, District Name, Section Name, Owner, Length, Width, Median Width, CDS Diameter, Pavement Area, Additional Area, # of Lanes, Total Area, Cross Slope, Street Number, and Block Number fields, if applicable. Two of these fields are calculated by the system. For your information, we've included their calculations in the table below.

Pavement Area

This represents the pavement area in square yards. With your cursor in this field, press F5 to recalculate.

Pavement Area = (Length * Width) / 9

Total Area

This field sums the values in the Pavement Area, Additional Area, and CDS Diameter fields. With your cursor in this field, press F5 to recalculate.

You may edit all of the data transferred over from the Subsegments module, except for the Street Number and Block Number fields. Any changes made to the subsegment data in this record will be carried over to the Subsegments module. In order to track additional information about your street subsegments, you can enter in-depth descriptions in the Starting and Ending Description text fields.

Note: The Classification, Pavement, and Width fields are required in order to save the record.
