Attributes Tab

The Attributes tab allows you to include detailed information about the segment in this record. You can record the direction of the segment, identify any applicable district, sub-district, yard, supervisor, and type of road segment in this record. In addition, several numeric fields are provided allowing you to document the segment length, number of lanes, lane length, right-of-way width, lane width, median width, inside shoulder, and outside shoulder width. Location fields are provided allowing you to document the beginning and ending X/Y coordinates.

Several of the fields in this tab have special functions. These are described below:

Field Name

Function

Lane Length

This field is calculated by the system. It represents the segment length multiplied by the number of lanes.

Road Rec ID

To associate the segment with a roadway from the Roads module, click on the Road Rec ID button or press F9 to access the pick list. Once you select a roadway, the associated road number and name will be automatically populated by the system.

Original Station

(Beginning and Ending)

These fields are provided to identify the original beginning and ending stationing points and are generally recorded in feet. They do not necessarily reflect the location of the Reference Posts displayed in the Header of this record.

Stationing changes may be made in the associated Roads record to reflect when a road is contracted or expanded. Based on these changes, the current stationing will be calculated by the system and displayed in the Header.

Note: The Road Rec ID is required in order to save the record.
