Attributes Tab

This tab allows you to associate the attribute with a roadway, locate its position along the roadway using linear reference posts or X/Y coordinates, and identify any applicable sub-type, district, sub-district, and/or yard. Several of the fields in this tab have special functions. These are described below:

Field Name

Function

Road Rec ID

To associate the attribute with a roadway from the Roads module, click on the Road Rec ID button or press F9 to access the pick list. Once you select a roadway, the associated road number and name will be automatically populated by the system.

Reference Post

(Beginning and Ending)

Reference Posts are generally recorded in miles and are also known as Mile Markers. These posts typically do not move when a portion of the road is contracted or expanded.

Original Station

(Beginning and Ending)

These fields are provided to identify the original beginning and ending stationing points and are generally recorded in feet. They do not necessarily reflect the location of the Reference Posts. These are numeric fields designed for linear referencing.

Current Station

(Beginning and Ending)

These two read-only fields are used by the system to reflect changes from the original stationing points. Changes are recorded in the associated Roads record when a road is contracted or expanded. If changes have been made and are not yet reflected in these fields, you may need to run the "Update Stationing" Toolkit function in the Roads module. Follow the link for additional information.

Note: In order to save the Attribute record, you must associate it with a Road Rec ID from the Roads module.
