RSS Feeds

RSS Feed Plug-ins display RSS feeds from other websites on the Dashboard, such as those that provide weather or news reports. Users can add multiple RSS feeds to a single frame.

Note: RSS is a family of web-feed formats used to publish frequently updated content (e.g.,news stories, blog entries, or podcasts) in a standardized manner. An RSS document (called a "feed") contains either a summary of content from an associated website or the full text.

Important! While Lucity attempts to remove any scripting from RSS feeds before rendering them on the Dashboard, we cannot guarantee that all external feeds are safe. When users subscribe to a feed, they do so at their own risk.

Open the Dashboard and the Dashboard Tab that you would like to edit.
Click the Enter Design Mode button.
Locate the Frame to which you would like to add a Plug-in.
Click the Add Plugin button at the bottom of the Frame. The following pop-up appears:
Select Create a New Plugin. The tool expands to display Plug-in options.
Select the RSS Feed option.
Click Create Plugin. A new plug-in is added to the Frame and the RSS Feed edit menu appears on the right.
In the URL field, enter the web address for an RSS feed.
Configure other display options as desired.
Click Save to accept the RSS Feed settings.


	RSS Feed Options
	URL	Indicates the web address for the desired RSS Feed. URLs for feeds can be found on different organizations' websites.
	Maximum	Controls the maximum amount of items displayed by a feed. Some feeds offer many items, which could clutter a Dashboard.
	Display Title	Shows the feed's title.
	Link Title	Converts the feed's title into a hyperlink to the source website.
	Display Description	Shows the description of the feed.
	Save	Saves all changes and closes the window.
	Cancel	Closes the window without saving any changes.
