Using the Build a Filter

How To Use the Build-A-Filter

  1. Click the Build-A-Filter tab. In the first drop-down box, select the module component upon which to base the filter. (This component could either be the module or a child module.)

    Example: In a Work Order, filter on the Work Order Assets.

  2. Use the second drop-down box to select the field in the selected module you wish to filter on. Another drop-down box appears.

    Example: Filter on the Asset Type Text field.

  3. Use the third drop-down box to select a filter operator. A blank field will appear on the next line.

    Example: Operators are parameters like: Starts With, Ends With, Equal, etc

  4. In the blank field, enter the filter criteria; that is, the term or value that you wish to include in, or exclude from, the results.

    Note: For code-type fields, a drop-down list is provided if the filter operator is Equals, Not Equals, In List, Not In List.

  5. To filter on an additional field, click the Add button add filter record. Repeat steps 1-4 with the new drop-down fields.
  6. To remove the filtering on one field, click the the Delete Entry button delete filter field next to that row.
  7. To save the filter, make sure a name is entered in the Filter Name field and click Save.
  8. Click Run to immediately run the filter.
