Slots Tab

The Slots tab provides information about equipment that is installed within the plant process.

This grid provides a list of slots within the plant process where different pieces of Equipment can be installed. Each slot then has a set of history records that appear in the second grid. The record that is selected in this grid controls which records appear in the bottom grid.

A sample of the grid appears below. Sort records in the grid by clicking on the headings. An up or down arrow (highlighted in orange below) indicates whether data appear in ascending or descending order.

Double-click on an existing record to open it.

Right-click in the grid to add a record.

Right-click on an existing record for options to View Record, Add Record, Edit Record, Delete Record, and...

Install Equipment - Installs an equipment record in the selected slot.
Uninstall Equipment - Removes an equipment record from the selected slot.
Replace Equipment - Uninstalls an equipment record from the selected slot and installs another piece of equipment.
View Equipment Inventory Record - Opens the Equipment module and displays the record for the equipment installed in the currently selected slot.
Create Equipment Inspection Record - Creates an inspection record for the equipment installed in the currently selected slot.
Create Equipment Reading Record - Creates a reading record for the equipment installed in the currently selected slot.
How to add a new equipment slot
1. Right-click in the grid and select Add Record. The following pop-up will appear:
2. Enter the Slot Number. This is required and must be unique for the current plant process.
3. Enter the Equipment Type. This is required and controls what type of equipment records can be installed into this slot.
4. Fill out other fields as desired.
5. Save and Close the Record.
6. The slot record will appear in the grid.
How to install a piece of equipment
1. Right-click on an empty slot in the grid and select Install Equipment. The following pop-up will appear:
2. Fill out the Date. This is required.
3. Use the Equipment field to select which piece of equipment should be installed into the slot. Click the field caption of press F9 for a list of equipment records.
  Note: This list will only show equipment records with an Equipment Type that matches the slot's Equipment Type.
4. Enter a Meter Reading if desired.
5. The Action is automatically filled out.
6. Save and Close the record.
7. The piece of equipment will be installed in the slot and a record will be added to the Slot/Equipment History grid.
How to uninstall a piece of equipment
1. Right-click on the slot to uninstall equipment from and select Uninstall Equipment. The following pop-up will appear:
2. Fill out the Date field. This is required.
3. The Equipment ID and Action fields are already filled out.
4. Fill out the other fields as desired.
5. Save and Close the record.
6. The piece of equipment will be uninstalled and a record will be added to the Slot/Equipment History grid.
How to replace a piece of equipment
1. Right-click on the slot to replace the equipment in and select Replace Equipment. The following pop-up will appear:
2. Fill out the Date field. This is required.
3. The Equipment ID and Action fields are already filled out.
4. Fill out the other fields as desired.
5. Save and Close the record. The equipment will be uninstalled and a record will be added to the Slot/Equipment History grid.
6. The program will then automatically launch this pop-up:
7. Fill out the Date. This is required.
8. Use the Equipment field to select which piece of equipment should be installed into the slot. Click the field caption of press F9 for a list of equipment records.

How to create an equipment inspection
1. Right-click on a record in the grid and select Create Equipment Inspection Record:
2. The Equipment Inspection module will open to a new record.
3. Fill out the Date Inspected. This is required.
4. The Equipment ID is also required but is filled out automatically from the equipment installed in the selected slot.
5. Fill out the other fields as desired.
6. Save and Close the record.

How to create an equipment reading
1. Right-click on a record in the grid and select Create Equipment Reading Record.
2. The Equipment Reading module will open to a new record.
3. Fill out the Current Reading Date, this is required.
4. The Equipment ID is also required but is automatically filled out from the equipment installed in the selected slot.
5. Fill out other fields as desired.
6. Save and Close the record.

This grid provides a list of historical records for the slot that is selected in the Slots grid. These records show what pieces of equipment were installed in the slot and when they were installed/uninstalled.
